Gold Exploration.

The process of using micro-XRF is particularly great for gold.

The 25 µm spot size allows for the detection a 1 µm particle of Au, as the concentration of Au from that particle will be greater than the detection limit for the 25 µm spot. This means that qualitative gold maps can be produced that can pinpoint the location of the gold in the sample within 25 µm. The high spatial resolution of the scans also enables the primary pathfinder elements associated with the gold to be identified.
